Holidays at Safari Bali and Marine Park: A 2024 Review

Safari Bali

Detail

Are you ready for an extraordinary adventure in the heart of Bali’s lush wilderness? Look no further than Safari Bali and Marine Park, where every moment is a thrilling journey into the world of exotic wildlife and captivating experiences. As we delve into our 2024 review of this renowned destination, prepare to be swept away by the wonders that await you.

The Entrance

Safari Bali

To access the park, you have multiple transportation options available, including scooter, car, or van. If you’ve made a reservation, it’s beneficial to mention it upon arrival. Upon reaching the park, you’ll receive guidance on parking based on your vehicle type, followed by a short walk to the ticket booth. For those who haven’t secured tickets yet, they can collect them at this point.

Upon receiving your wristbands, avoid the hassle of putting them on yourself. Instead, scan the QR code first, as it’ll be needed at the small gate further ahead. Staff members will assist you in wearing the wristbands. Afterward, a brief wait for the bus ensues, which will transport you to the park within minutes.

Additionally, there’s a security check for any outside food and drinks, as they’re not permitted inside the park premises. However, if you’re accompanied by a young child, like my 3-year-old daughter, carrying essential items like her favorite milk and specially packed snacks is generally allowed. During my visit with my family of three, it was evident that we only carried provisions for our little one, which posed no issues during the security check.

Aquariums and Bali Marine Park

Safari Bali

Your adventure kicks off in the captivating realm of the aquarium, where you’ll be greeted by a refreshing and pleasantly cool atmosphere. Besides the aquatic wonders, there’s an abundance of sights to behold. While the full marine park experience is still in the works and was similarly pending during my previous visit three years ago, there’s no shortage of excitement awaiting exploration.

Piranha Feeding

Safari Bali

The feeding frenzy of the piranhas occurs between 10 am and 12 pm, as well as from 1 pm to 4 pm. If you’re eager to witness this spectacle, arrive a tad early. Admission costs 70k IDR (approximately US $4.50) for two baits. For a sneak peek, check out a brief YouTube clip showcasing the excitement.

Upon noticing the “coming soon” sign, we promptly returned to the main road structure to continue with our planned itinerary. Make sure to review the schedule and timetable for upcoming attractions.

  • Animal Show
  • Big Cat Show
  • Elephant Show
  • Bali Agung Show
  • Safari Journey
  • Free-roaming in the park
  • Petting Zoo (with feeding)
  • Uma Restaurant

Throughout your excursion, I recommend keeping a water bottle handy. Hydration is key, especially in the heat, and you’ll find water available for purchase throughout the park. Stay refreshed and enjoy your adventure!

The Animal Show

This captivating show runs twice daily, from 10:30 am to 11 am and again from 4:00 pm to 4:30 pm at the Hanuman Stage.

Filled with educational content and entertainment suitable for all ages, the show features a diverse array of animals, from small rodents to majestic orangutans. Attendees can expect to gain valuable insights and knowledge during the presentation. What’s more, in the wake of the pandemic, there’s increased interaction between the animals, presenters, and the audience. Volunteers may even have the chance to assist during the show, adding an extra layer of excitement.

Following the show, ten lucky individuals will be selected to join the animals on stage for a photo opportunity. Don’t hesitate to bring your loved ones along for this memorable moment—it’s permitted and encouraged!

Big Cat Show

Safari Bali

During the thrilling Big Cat Show, spectators are treated to insights into the tiger’s history and the reasons behind their endangered status. Witness these majestic creatures showcase their remarkable skills, from climbing trees to swimming with finesse. However, unlike some shows, there’s no audience interaction during this presentation.

Regrettably, we missed out on the Elephant Show and the Bali Agung Show. Instead, we took advantage of the quieter park atmosphere while others attended the shows, enjoying leisurely strolls and securing prime seats for our upcoming safari adventure.

Free Roaming in the Park

Exploring freely is especially enjoyable when accompanied by young children. Their natural inclination to explore and move about is perfectly complemented by the wide-open spaces of the park. With an abundance of wildlife to observe, including free-roaming parrots in the bird area, missing scheduled events and shows occasionally isn’t a major setback. For families with little ones, the petting zoo offers a delightful experience worth savoring.

At 2:30 pm, don’t miss the feeding time for the Siberian or white tiger. Beforehand, you may observe the tiger eagerly pacing, anticipation evident in its movements as it awaits its meal. Witnessing this behavior from a safe distance offers a fascinating glimpse into the tiger’s instincts and hunger, making for an intriguing spectacle.

The Safari Bali

Safari Bali

Embarking on the Safari adventure is truly the pinnacle of the park experience. Prepare to traverse diverse landscapes, each inhabited by a unique array of animals in their natural habitats. Witnessing hippos indulging in their meals, often submerged in water, was a remarkable sight that left us in awe. As you pass by the rhino enclosure, don’t miss the opportunity to glimpse the park’s accommodation facilities.

The Safari tour offers an unforgettable blend of excitement and education. So sit back, relax, and soak in the wonders of nature!

Uma Restaurant

Safari Bali

Uma Restaurant isn’t the one where you’ll dine with lions! We made that mistake during our previous visit. Instead, it’s a delightful, spacious eatery complete with a play area for little ones. Operating like a food court, each order results in a separate bill—we ended up with three! The Nasi Campur delighted with its clean, spicy flavors, while the Pizza Rendang proved challenging to eat due to its tough dough. However, the salad provided a refreshing contrast with its crispness and a hint of acidity from the balsamic vinegar. Delicious!

Verdict Bali Safari Park

Compared to our visit during the pandemic, there’s been a significant improvement at Bali Safari Park. It’s a fantastic spot for a day trip, although staying overnight in a hotel might enhance the experience, particularly for evening activities like predator feeding. While the park admission is pricey, the range of activities available makes it worthwhile for families, couples on a date, or anyone who loves animals. We’ve shared some photos, but there’s so much more to discover at Bali Safari Park.

We hope you enjoyed our review and feel inspired to visit! It truly offers a one-of-a-kind experience, especially the safari adventure. Prepare to leave with a wealth of new knowledge and unforgettable memories!

Enjoy a limitless tourism experience in Bali. You can also enjoy the excitement by renting an ATV from Ubud Quad Biking. Vacations will certainly be more exciting and enjoyable.
