Kemenuh Butterfly Park Ubud

Kemenuh Butterfly Park Ubud is a tourist attraction located in Gianyar, Bali. It is also not far from the center of Ubud, requiring only a 15-minute drive.

This park is quite unique, offering a holiday experience where you can see hundreds of butterflies of various species. In total, the park houses 30 species of butterflies. Some of them include Papilio Polityes, Papilio Demolius, Cetusia Hepsiya, Papilio Helenus, Attacus Altas, Papilio Memnom, Papilio Phrantus, Grapium Agramemnom, Cetusia Hepsiya, Vindula Erota, Euplea Phanaereta, Idea Stolie, Trhoides Helena, and Ideosis Juventa.

Besides the butterfly garden, Butterfly Park Ubud also features a tropical garden that reflects the essence of tropical life. The presence of this tropical garden adds to the beauty and uniqueness of the park. Additionally, there is a water garden and a restaurant. This location is perfect for a relaxing day out.

Butterfly Park Ubud is also classified as a new tourist destination. Established in 2016, the park spans an area of 3,000 square meters. It’s spacious enough for you to bring your children to play and learn about butterflies and their unique life cycle.

The Beauty of Butterfly Park Ubud

This park has a beautiful design. As soon as you enter the park, you will immediately see a vast expanse of green rice fields. The park follows a concept that is closely connected to nature. Inside Butterfly Park Ubud, you will feel as though you have entered a tropical garden filled with colorful flowers.

How is it that the butterflies do not fly away freely? In fact, the butterflies in this park can still fly freely, but the park is enclosed by pillars or metal frames connected by fine mesh netting. This gives the park a cool, tropical forest-like atmosphere.

Additionally, the park’s concept is designed to mimic the butterflies’ natural habitat. You can see these small, colorful creatures fluttering slowly from flower to flower. This is a great moment for photography enthusiasts, as you can capture beautiful images of butterflies flying or perching on a flower.

The presence of ponds and small waterfalls in this park further enhances the relaxing atmosphere for visitors. The sound of trickling water and seeing butterflies landing on the water to drink creates a tranquil feeling that is unlike any other.

Moreover, the staff at Butterfly Park Ubud are very friendly. You will be greeted by a receptionist dressed like a hotel staff member, who will welcome you, provide guidance for your visit, and, most interestingly, offer you a welcome drink.

What Fun Activities Are Offered?

What activities can you do at Butterfly Park Ubud? You are free to explore the park and its spacious grounds. Feel free to wander and encounter various beautiful butterfly species.

Here, you can take photos, capture wonderful moments, or interact with the butterflies. However, you must be careful when interacting with them. Butterfly wings are fragile, so it is important to handle them gently.

In addition to various species of butterflies, the park also features a pupa room. What is a pupa room? It is a special room where metamorphosis takes place. In this room, you will not only observe but also learn about the life cycle of butterflies. You will see several cocoons of different shapes and sizes, depending on the butterfly species.

If you’re lucky, you might witness the moment when a butterfly emerges from its cocoon. In this space, you can observe the transformation of a caterpillar into a butterfly. These moments also teach us that anyone can undergo a positive transformation after going through a series of processes.

If the park is filled with butterflies, naturally, it also houses caterpillars that will soon become butterflies. If you are uncomfortable around caterpillars, you should be cautious and ask the staff to inform you where the caterpillars are kept so you can avoid them.

The presence of various butterfly species in the park is the result of the efforts of the staff, who collect different types of caterpillar eggs to hatch. In addition to butterflies, the park also houses other insects such as beetles and other unique creatures.
